Biography

2004 was a turning point for Donna musically, going back to her roots, having been brought up on a diet (thanks to Mum) of Hollywood Musicals and Judy Garland et al.  The inspiration behind this ‘step back’ has been a result of attending a few Jazz Passenger’s gigs (Debbie Harry as vocalist)  It was amazing seeing Debbie do this kind of music, when she’s so associated with the underground New York punk movement of the early 70’s.  It’s been a big influence and motivator.

An all round performer, Donna can also deliver a wide range of popular genres of music, anything from Nina Simone to Madonna.  Having been singing professionally for over 10 years and having been trained by Karen Chapman and Wendy Gadion (Musical Director for West End stage productions), Donna is equipped to cater for a wide and varied spectrum of musical tastes.

With a mid to high range, Donna can deliver cool laid back jazz to dreamy ballads and pop, in one easy transition depending on the requirements. Adaptable to any venue and occasion from small intimate wine bars, restaurants, hotels, to lively pubs/clubs and dinner/private parties.

Her “Under Cover” set includes artists such as: Eva Cassidy, Aretha Franklin, Sade, Katie Melua, Norah Jones, Donna Summer, Nina Simone, Blondie, Dido, Annie Lennox, Abba, Rose Royce, The Commitments, Cher, Madonna, “Country artists”, Faith Hill, 60’s to present day, to name but a few…..

Set List

Donna does not believe in a "set" list as spontaneity is much more fun!  Everywhere is different and predictably unpredictable, which Donna prefers and can therefore adapt to the vibe of the gig.
